New Delhi: Two days ahead of its release Brahmastra gets a taste of criticism in MP. Ranbir Kapoor’s 2011 tweet on mutton paya mounts trouble for the Ayaan Mukherji flick. The boycott trend seems to haunt the adventure directorial after plaguing films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Liger and Raksha Bandhan.

The star couple on their visit to Ujjain to take blessing of the Mahakaleshwar temple faced protests by the Bajrang Dal that were angered by Ranbir Kapoor’s 11-year-old comment. Hence, Ayan did the darshan all by himself.

On Wednesday, during the promotional event of Brahmastra in Delhi, Ayan broke his silence over the protests faced by them in Ujjain and admitted that he didn’t want to take Alia to Mahakaleshwar Temple, owing to her pregnancy.

He said, “I was feeling bad that Ranbir and Alia could not come with me for Darshan to Mahakaleshwar temple. I had gone to Mahakaleshwar temple before my motion poster was released. And, I told to myself that I will definitely come here before the release of my film.”

“Both (Ranbir and Alia) of them were keen to come with me. But, when we reached there and heard about this. I felt bad about what happened there. And, then I told Ranbir and Alia to let me go alone. I went there to seek blessings and energy for the film. I just didn’t want to take Alia there in her current condition. So, I felt very bad going there alone. And, (after visiting the temple) honestly I felt that they could have also come,” he added.
