The Mumbai police sources reported on Thursday that the autopsy showed Mehta died from multiple injuries. The late Mehta, 62 years of age, slipped and fell from the sixth story of “Ayesha Manor,” which is in the Almeida Park area of Mumbai and which he shared with his wife.
On the same day in the evening, while his mother-in-law, Malaika Arora’s mother, was in their sixth-floor flat, Mehta jumped off the building. After that, the police arrived in Mumbai and took him to a nearby hospital, where a team from the Mumbai Police accompanied him. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival even if medical practitioners attempted to revive him to life.
The post-mortem examination was done around 8 PM at Bhabha Hospital situated in Mumbai, where the autopsy further revealed that multiple injuries were the cause of his death. The report also revealed that the injuries acquired were compatible with a fall from such a height.
Losing her father, Malaika particularly took to Instagram and shared a heart-touching message: How do you even begin to talk about them… The family that we have lost, the light, and the joy. We are heartbroken and sad. She spoke of her father as a beacon of hope and strength, which provides the audience with the feelings of grief that come with loss.
Already, the preparations for the last rites are on, which are set to be performed today at Santacruz, Mumbai crematorium. People who are close to the mourning families are expected to come to bear the loss by coming together and sympathizing with each other. The untimely death of Anil Mehta has, therefore, raised a big question as to how those who knew him will now cope with the loss while his family is still in mourning.
