In the clash between Yami Gautam’s “Article 370” and Vidyut Jammwal’s “Crakk” on February 23, 2024, Yami’s political drama took the lead after 11 days at the box office. Despite a dip on the 2nd Monday, “Article 370” has consistently attracted audiences since its release. On the contrary, “Crakk,” the action-packed thriller starring Vidyut Jammwal, Nora Fatehi, Arjun Rampal, and Amy Jackson, faced a decline, making only Rs 0.17 crore on Monday, totaling Rs 13.32 crore in 11 days. The film, focusing on a man’s journey from Mumbai’s slums to the world of extreme underground sports, opened to mixed reviews, clashing with Yami Gautam’s film.

As “Crakk” struggled, Yami’s film experienced its first significant drop in box office earnings during the second week. Despite a decline of over 50% on its first Monday, “Article 370” maintained a solid presence, securing an estimated net revenue of around Rs 1.75 crore on the 11th day. Early estimates by industry trackers suggest that the film earned approximately Rs 52.60 crore nett in India in 11 days.

In “Article 370,” Yami Gautam portrays Zooni Haksar, an intelligence officer, set against the scenic backdrop of Jammu and Kashmir. The film narrates the historical withdrawal of Article 370, which granted unique constitutional privileges to the former state. Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and produced by Yami’s husband Aditya Dhar, the film continues to make its mark despite the momentary setback. The clash at the box office highlights Yami’s film as a consistent performer, while Vidyut’s “Crakk” faces challenges in maintaining audience engagement.
