Yami Gautam is celebrating the success of her recent Bollywood release, “Article 370,” despite facing a tough box office clash with Vidyut Jammwal’s action film, “Crakk.” Both movies hit theaters on February 23, and Yami’s political drama has consistently outperformed Vidyut’s action-packed offering. As the films reach the 12-day mark at the box office, let’s delve into their cumulative earnings.
Article 370 made an impressive start with an opening day revenue of Rs 5.9 crores, maintaining its momentum throughout. The film had a stellar second weekend, accumulating Rs 50 crores. However, its collections experienced a dip on the second Tuesday, with a reported earning of Rs 1.75 crores, bringing the total to Rs 54.35 crores.
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the political drama features Skand Thakur, Priyamani, Ashwini Kaul, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar. Yami Gautam shines in her role as Zooni, an intelligence officer, in this narrative surrounding the controversial 2019 revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
In contrast, since its debut week, “Crakk: Jeetega… Toh Jiyegaa” has declined in box office collections. The action-packed film, directed by Aditya Datt, earned Rs 0.18 crore on its 12th day, with a total domestic gross of Rs 13.58 crores.
Starring Vidyut Jammwal as Siddharth Dixit (Siddhu), Arjun Rampal as Dev, Nora Fatehi as Alia, and Amy Jackson as Patricia Novak, the film also features Ankit Mohan, Jamie Lever, Bijay Anand, and Rajendra Shisatkar in pivotal roles. Despite opening to mixed reviews, “Crakk” continues its box office journey with contributions from Vidyut Jammwal and Abbas Sayyed.
As Yami Gautam’s Article 370 maintains its stronghold and Crakk faces declining numbers, the box office clash between these two films adds an interesting dimension to the Bollywood landscape, showcasing diverse genres and audience preferences.
