Several films are currently making waves at the box office, including Vikas Bahl’s directed film ‘Shaitaan’, starring Ajay Devgan and R Madhavan, along with Yami Gautam’s ‘Article 370’ and Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Yoddha’. Among these, ‘Shaitaan’ is the most spectacular performer, raking in impressive earnings and garnering attention in cinema halls.
The story of ‘Shaitaan’ revolves around black magic, sorcery, hypnotism, and demonic powers, which although may have left some viewers disappointed, has proven to be a lucrative venture at the box office. The lead actors Ajay Devgan and R Madhavan have capitalized on the film’s success. Consequently, ‘Shaitaan’ has consistently maintained strong earnings, surpassing the ₹100 crore mark.
In contrast, Yami Gautam’s film ‘Article 370’ presents a narrative centered around the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, offering glimpses of historical events, which audiences have appreciated. Despite this, the film is currently experiencing a slump in theaters. On the other hand, ‘Yoddha’, which portrays the story of brave soldiers, led by Siddharth Malhotra, struggling to combat a plane hijacking, has not performed as expected at the box office.
According to industry trackers, ‘Shaitaan’ recorded an impressive collection of ₹2.25 crore on its 19th day of release, reaching a total of ₹130.95 crore. Its worldwide earnings are swiftly approaching the ₹200 crore mark. Conversely, ‘Article 370’ earned a mere ₹23 lakhs on its 5th Tuesday, accumulating a total of ₹76.28 crore domestically, with worldwide earnings close to ₹103 crore. ‘Yoddha’ managed to collect only ₹80 lakhs on its second Tuesday, resulting in a total collection of ₹31.65 crore domestically and approximately ₹47 crore worldwide.
Despite varied performances, these films continue to captivate audiences with their unique narratives and star-studded casts.
