Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, a Bollywood actor, is currently facing difficulties with his film “Mission Raniganj” as it struggles to attract audiences during its first week of release. Despite hopes of a performance over the weekend following a start on Friday, the movie failed to experience significant growth.
On Monday, there was a drop in box office earnings. Industry reports suggest that the film only earned Rs 1.25 crore on its day in theaters, bringing its collection to Rs 13.85 crore. The movie had an occupancy rate of 9.23% in the Hindi-speaking market.
Initially, “Mission Raniganj” opened with earnings of Rs 2.8 crore. Then, they earned Rs 4.80 crore on Saturday and Rs 5 crore on Sunday. Alongside this film Karan Boolani’s “Thank You For Coming” also struggled at the box office. Earned Rs 0.35 crore on Monday, bringing its four-day collection to Rs 4.77 crore. In contrast, Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Jawan,” which has been running for a month now, managed to earn Rs 1.05 crore on Monday.
Akshay Kumar is renowned for delivering box-office hits and has recently faced challenges in attracting audiences to his recent films.
Although “OMG 2 ” his recent release, was praised for its content, it didn’t draw as many people as his previous successful films. The actor faced a phase at the box office with his movies released in 2022, such as “Ram Setu ” “Raksha Bandhan,” “Samrat Prithviraj ” and “Bachchhan Paandey,” all failing to meet expectations.
