Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday gathered the entire Congress party today and declared the 2024 Lok Sabha election results against PM Narendra Modi as his moral and political defeat. Kharge, during a press conference attended by Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, said: “These are ‘janta ka results’. … They vividly point out that this is a verdict against Modi ji. It is his moral and political loss.”
Regarding possibilities of the INDIA bloc to form a government, Rahul Gandhi stated, “We are expecting to have a meeting with our partners tomorrow About all these questions will be answered there. We shall not make any statements on our own; we will consult partners”.
In future, at X (which was formerly called Twitter), Kharge typed in Hindi: “We accept the verdict of the 18th Lok Sabha. This is the victory of the people; this is the victory of democracy. This time, the people did not give an absolute mandate to any single party, particularly the ruling party, BJP, which sought votes in the name of one man, one face. Now, everything is crystal clear that this mandate was against Modiji.
Kharge self-asserted that the Congress Party never ran negatively on its campaign despite problems beginning with problem slogans of inflation, unemployment, pains of farmers and labourers and misuse of constitutional bodies. “Many people came forward and supported us on these issues,” he said and further noted that the kind of campaign that the Prime Minister Prime Minister conducted will remain etched in history for years to come. The public knows about the falsehood the Modiji spread about the Congress manifesto, Mr. Anand pointed out.
He also explained how Rahul Gandhi by his two tours, Bharat Jodo Yatra and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, affected political events. He factual addressed lakhs of people through these tours; they apprised him of their problems, and he worked out remedies for them.
