Chandigarh: With the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections underway, initial polling trends from ECI show varied leads across different regions. In Punjab, the BJP is leading in 4 out of 13 seats, while the INDIA bloc is ahead in 6 seats. In Chandigarh, the INDIA alliance is leading in the sole seat. In Haryana, the BJP is leading in 4 out of 10 seats, with the INDIA bloc ahead in 6 seats.

Key candidate leads: Congress candidate Charanjit Singh Channi, the former Chief Minister, is leading by approximately 16,000 votes in Jalandhar. Meanwhile, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring is ahead of BJP’s Bittu in the rural segments of Dakha and Jagraon in Ludhiana. AAP’s Malwinder Kang from Anandpur Sahib is consolidating his lead with 3,000 votes. According to the latest trends, BJP is leading in all five seats in Uttarakhand and in four out of four seats in Himachal Pradesh.
What the voter turnout looked like: Punjab’s got a 62.80% voter turnout, Himachal Pradesh is at a solid 71%, while Chandigarh recorded 40.14%. Haryana’s final average stands at 64.8%, and in Uttarakhand, three out of five seats saw a dip in voters compared to 2019.
As the six-week long voting exercise in the world’s largest democracy comes to an end, Indians are now eagerly waiting for the outcome of the mega-polling process. Lok Sabha election results 2024 are scheduled to be announced today, i.e., June 4, 2024. Counting of votes will begin at 8 AM IST and ECI will keep sharing the latest counting -related to the lok sabha election results online. It is crucial to note here that result of election for Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh assemblies began at 6AM on Sunday, June 2. A senior official from ECI informed on Monday that over 2000 security personal have been deployed in Mizoram to proceed the vote-counting process and declare the election results 2024.
