Loksabha Result 2024: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar may turn out to be a ‘kingmaker’ for either of the majority. The curtains come down today on the months-long Lok Sabha elections as barely hours are left for the counting of votes to end. All eyes are fixed on whether the National Democratic Alliance, led by the BJP, will script a return to power for Prime Minister Narendra Modi or can the Opposition’s INDIA bloc defy the exit polls and pull-off a surprise. Memes galore as BJP – led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi looks far behind ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar’ while INDIA makes massive impact.
On the contrary, INDIA has proved most exit polls wrong and made a massive impact. Meanwhile, social media users have started sharing memes and reactions.
The ruling BJP has won three seats — Jaipur, Chitradurga, and Surat, as per trends by the Election Commission of India. BJP’s Manju Sharma won by a margin of over 33,000 votes in Jaipur, while Congress won the Jalandhar constituency.
The Congress, which has stitched multiple alliances throughout the country and is a key part of the INDIA bloc, is contesting the fewest Lok Sabha seats in its history — 328, as compared to 421 in 2019, 464 in 2019 and 440 in 2009. The states where the Congress is hopeful that the INDIA bloc will recover some lost ground include Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar and Karnataka. Of these, Haryana and Maharashtra go to Assembly polls later this year and Bihar next year.
