Even after a record-breaking victory in the Jharkhand Assembly Election Result, Congress has suffered a major setback. CM Hemant Soren has refused to give the post of deputy CM to Congress. Soren bluntly told Congress to continue with the same system. Do not bring new demands unnecessarily. We will remain as strong as we were. In fact, it is being said that Congress had raised its voice for the post of deputy CM through its senior leader Subodh Kant Sahay.

JMM-led India Alliance has won a bumper victory in the Jharkhand assembly elections held on 23 November 2024. India Alliance has won 56 out of 81 assembly seats in the state. Out of this, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has once again emerged as the largest party by winning 34 seats.

The Congress party, which is a coalition partner, has got 16 seats. After winning the election, discussions regarding the demand for the post of Deputy CM had intensified in the Congress.

After the results of the Jharkhand elections were announced, there was a growing discussion within the Congress party that it should get the post of Deputy CM in Jharkhand. However, Hemant Soren suppressed the voice where it arose. Now it remains to be seen what kind of agreement is reached between Congress and JMM and how the government is formed.

On the other hand, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had to be satisfied with only 26 seats, in which BJP won 21 seats, while its three allies AJSU Party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Janata Dal (United) got one seat each. In the assembly elections held in Jharkhand, BJP tried its best to win, but it did not succeed. BJP also raised the issue of infiltrators, but the public rejected it outright. The situation became such that in this state with 81 seats, BJP had to be satisfied with 21 seats.
