Bypolls: Counting of votes have begun in seven states where voting took place on Wednesday in 13 Assembly constituencies. According to the Election Commission’s Voter Turnout app, Tamil Nadu’s Vikravandi recorded the highest polling percentage. Uttarakhand’s Badrinath assembly seat recorded the lowest turnout.
In Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur constituency, Pushpinder Verma of the Indian National Congress is leading with 3004 votes, an increase of 200 votes over his nearest competitor. Ashish Sharma of the Bharatiya Janata Party is trailing with 2804 votes, a decrease of 200 votes compared to Verma’s total.
In Uttarakhand, Lakhapat Singh Butola of Congress is leading with 4115 votes in Badrinath constituency. His nearest competitor is Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajendra Singh Bhandari with 3450 votes. Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin of Congress is leading the tally in Manglaur constituency with 8990 votes, ahead of his nearest competitor by 1600 votes.
