Soon, the results for the CSE Preliminary 2025 will be put out by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). In May 2025, the UPSC CSE Prelims exam was conducted smoothly at many exam centres in India. According to tradition, the first shift was for Paper I (General Studies) and the second shift was for CSAT.
Usually, people will hear the results after 15 days have passed since the exam. As soon as the results are released, candidates have the option to download the PDF file with the qualified candidates’ roll numbers for the Mains test. You will find the official PDF result for UPSC on the website: upsc.gov.in
The candidates who obtain above the cut-off in General Studies Paper I and pass the CSAT (which is a qualifying exam and requires 33% marks to clear) can proceed to the Mains round. It should be recalled that marks scored in General Studies are taken into account for making the prelims merit list.
If you review last year’s results, you can notice that cut-off marks increased for all categories. To pass the exam, candidates in general had to achieve 87.98, but those from OBC and EWS had to get 87.28 and 85.92 marks, respectively. It is advisable for aspirants to keep checking the official site for the announcement of the results and start working for the next part of the recruitment process.
Those who clear the prelims will be able to register for the UPSC CSE Mains 2025, which consists of descriptive papers to measure their knowledge, analytical skills, and ability to write.
