Several Indian states have officially released their academic calendars for 2025, with school reopen date varying widely due to weather conditions, academic boards, and government advisories. Schools in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Tamil Nadu have published their schedules and have prepared to change them if there are major climatic disruptions.
Heat waves have forced some schools in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha to dismiss students earlier than usual. Authorities say these shutdowns could continue if the high temperatures do not ease up. Odisha and West Bengal are prioritising student safety, keeping school reopen date flexible to adapt to changing weather scenarios.
Here’s a look at the confirmed school reopen date across several states:
- Vacation for Delhi runs from May 11 until June 30. On July 1, 2025, schools will resume their operations.

- Schools in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will restart on June 16 following summer vacations that conclude on June 15.

While CBSE schools reopen on June 13, colleges in the region are scheduled to reopen on June 19. Kendriya Vidyalayas will use different timelines in different areas, as vacations can last from 40 to 50 days.
