Bhopal: The government has cancelled the recognition of 250 private schools in Madhya Pradesh. These include 12 schools in the capital Bhopal. The recognition has been cancelled due to lack of land documents in these schools. Some school operators did not have sufficient land and some were found lacking registration papers.
In fact, in the recognition process of schools from class 9th to 12th in the state, the first application goes to the divisional joint director. After not getting approval from the divisional joint director, the second appeal goes to the departmental minister. Cases related to recognition of 350 private schools had reached the departmental minister. Out of which only 50 schools got recognition while 50 have been kept on hold. Recognition of 250 private schools has been cancelled, which also includes 12 schools of the capital Bhopal.
According to the information, the appeals made by the operators of these private schools have also been rejected by Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh. After this, orders have been issued by Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) Secondary Teacher Commissioner Shilpa Gupta to cancel the recognition of about 250 schools.
What are the rules for granting recognition?
1. There should be at least 4 thousand square feet of space for a high school.
2. 5600 square feet of land (built and open) for higher secondary.
3. Apart from this, toilets and laboratories are also mandatory in the school.
