The MCC, which falls under the DGHS, will out forward the first phase of NEET UG counselling from August 14, 2024. This important phase will ease the process of admissions to professional courses in medical and dental colleges in India.

In the path of counselling, the total MBBS seats available are 1,09,145 and the BDS seats available are 27,868. Meanwhile, the state would offer a thousand BSc Nursing seats through counselling of NEET. This process will also include the AYUSH namely Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy and veterinary courses. The official notification released by the DGHS on the 29th of July in the current year stated that though the counselling for the admission is to begin from the 14th of August the registration for the same may begin in the first week of August. Prospective candidates are urged to visit the MCC’s website to check out the latest on this, the schedule included.

Explaining further, Dr. B. Srinivas, Secretary of the NMC said that candidates are likely to register for the counselling process from the beginning of August. He said that through the counselling, the allocation of about one would be made. Around 710 MBBS colleges in the country have 10 lakh total MBBS seats. Besides, it will offer 21,000 BDS AYUSH seats and nursing seats.

All the candidates aspiring to join MCC have to pay a visit to the official Website of MCC at www.mcc.nic.in, to go for more details concerning the counselling process. The MCC will also be responsible for counselling of 15% of all India quota seats and all seats of AIIMS, Central Universities, JIPMER (Pondicherry) and all seats of deemed universities.

This declaration has been done after the declaration of the NEET UG result of the examination, which was held on 05/05/2024. The scores which were withheld because of controversies and legal procedures were released by the National Testing Agency Admissions Norms on 26th July after the apex court disposed of various petitions on examination malpractices.
