JEE Main 2026 registration will start in October by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Though the actual registration dates are yet to be officially announced, applications by candidates intending to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination can be made online through the official NTA JEE site at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
JEE Main 2026 will be done in two phases, the first one in January 2026 and the second one in April 2026. The test has two papers to accommodate the various streams of academics. Paper 1 is taken to enter undergraduate engineering courses like B.E. and B.Tech courses in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and other participating state-funded or recognised institutions. Paper 1 is also used to test eligibility for JEE Advanced, the admission test of the Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs). Paper 2 is created to enable the students who want to join B.Arch and B.Planning programs in India.
The test will most probably be done in two shifts per day, whereby the first one will take place between 9 am and 12 noon and the second between 3 pm and 6 pm.
