To support the lakhs of students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has rolled out a comprehensive facilitation plan. With the exams spanning from February 17 to April 10, 2026, the DMRC’s initiative aims to provide a “smooth and hassle-free” commute during one of the most stressful periods of the academic year.
Priority Access for Students
The cornerstone of this arrangement is the “Students First” policy at all entry and exit points. In coordination with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), the DMRC has implemented the following measures:
- Priority Security Checks: Students carrying a valid CBSE Admit Card are given priority at frisking points, significantly reducing wait times during the morning rush.
- Expedited Ticketing: Priority is also extended at Ticket Office Machines (TOM) and Customer Care (CC) centers for those needing to purchase QR tickets or top up their smart cards.
- Centralised Announcements: To keep candidates informed and calm, special announcements are being made across the network regarding travel updates and station proximity to exam centers.
Navigating “Extraordinary” Traffic
The 2026 exam season coincides with the India AI Impact Summit, which has led to significant road diversions and VVIP movement across Central Delhi. To mitigate the risk of students getting stuck in traffic snarls near venues like Bharat Mandapam, the DMRC and Delhi Police have strongly encouraged the use of the metro as the most reliable transit mode.
Planning Tools
To further assist families, the DMRC has updated its website and mobile app with a detailed list of metro stations closest to various examination centers. This digital integration, paired with the “priority lane” approach on the ground, ensures that the journey to the exam hall is one less thing for students to worry about.
