The government has also clarified that no child will be expelled from school. Students will not be expelled until they complete their primary education.

Under the new education policy of the central government, it has been decided to abolish the ‘no detention policy’ to improve the learning ability of students and improve their academic performance. According to the Ministry of Education, this rule will apply to more than 3,000 schools run by the Central Government, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Sainik Schools. According to the Central Government, school education is a state subject. Therefore, the states can take their own decision in this matter.

Let us tell you that 16 states of the country and 2 union territories including Delhi have already abolished the no-detention policy for these two classes. The government had banned the provision of failing in the examination till 8th class from the year 2010-11. Due to this, students used to get promoted to the next class despite failing. But this started having a great impact on primary education and gradually the quality of education started declining. Its effect started affecting the results of 10th and 12th board examinations. This matter was being discussed for a long time. Now it has been abolished by changing the rules.
