The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reopened the portal to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for the 2026 board examinations of Classes 10 and 12. Schools that failed to do so on the first deadline now have the option of filling and submitting their LOC forms via the official CBSE site, cbse.gov.in.
The portal will not be closed with a late fee until October 8, 2025. Submission will then be taken with a late fee till the 11th of October 2025. After this long period, the submissions will not be considered any longer.
CBSE claimed this extension was required since a number of schools did not post their LOCs within the initial time. School heads have been cautioned strongly by the Board to ensure that the process is completed at the earliest opportunity. The official circular is categorical that those schools which fail to submit their LOC by the last deadline will be fully responsible for the aftermath. This could involve students not being allowed to take the 2026 board exams.
The message is clear that the portal will be closed, and CBSE will not reopen it, and no appeal will be considered. Schools have been advised to be careful when filling in the candidate information because any mistake at this level can affect admit cards and eligibility in the future.
Individually, CBSE has already published the provisional timetable of the 2026 board tests. As per the schedule:
- Class 10 and Class 12 Exams start on February 17, 2026.
- Class 10 exams will end on March 9, 2026.
- The end of class 12 examinations will be on April 9, 2026.
The majority of the papers will be conducted between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM; however, some papers will conclude at 12:30 PM, depending on the topic at hand.
Approximately 45 lakh students will take exams in 204 subjects in India and 26 overseas countries in 2026.
