CBSE has started the registration process for The Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for the academic session of 2024-2025. Interested college and university students may apply online until October 31 only. Those individuals who may be interested in obtaining more information about the scholarship can access the information on the official site, scholarships.gov.in/Students.

Under this scholarship program, eligible students will get an amount of Rs 12000/- per annum for the first three years of their higher studies and later on Rs 20000/- per annum for the 4th & 5th years, respectively. This should foster an education for 82,000 students annually, of which they shall have 41,000 scholarships for each sex.

Today, the CBSE has encouraged all the applicants to make sure that they fill their applications online within the given time. Further, candidates must get their applications endorsed by the institutions under which they studied, procedures that might involve producing originals of the relevant papers to prove one’s qualifying for the course. If this verification process is not followed, then the application will be considered invalid through the verification procedure that was announced in the official CBSE notice.

Moreover, the CBSE has claimed that new applications can also be registered, while renewals are for the first year, second year, third year, and fourth year for the academic years 2023, 2022, and 2020. For a candidate to be eligible for this scholarship initiative, the family income should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakh per year.

It becomes very important to distribute these scholarships across state education boards so that the population in question determines the complete number of scholarships to be offered. This targeted approach caters for young persons between the ages of 18 and 25 years, and the intended beneficiaries are needy, worthy and deserving students from economically less privileged backgrounds to help them in improving their educational chances.
