Hazaribagh: The Central Bureau of Investigation CBI on Saturday arrested a journalist from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case. The journalist, further named as Jamaluddin, working with a Hindi newspaper, is alleged to have assisted the principal and vice principal of Oasis School, whose arrest occurred the other day.
Check for the role principal and the vice principal of Oasis School, Ehsanul Haque and Imtiaz Alam, also arrested on the assumption of their involvement in the paper leak. Owing to the investigation, Alam is among the six NTA employees, including the observer and centre coordinator of Oasis School, they said.
Haque, being the district coordinator of the NEET exam of Hazaribagh district for the examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 5th May, had a very responsible job in the process. During the same GUT, CBI teams searched a total of seven places in Godhra, Kheda, Ahmedabad, and Anand that involved suspects of the case looked into by Godhra police.
CBI’s investigation of the NEET examination scandal landed the first arrest on June 27. Both Arrested persons belonging to Patna, Ashutosh Kumar and Manish Kumar, aided a place where some of those who took the exam received the leaked NEET question paper and answer keys.
The CBI thus filed its first FIR on June 23 after the Ministry of Education declared that they were shifting the probe into exam abuses to the bureau. Entrance to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH government and private courses is through the NTA’s NEET-UG. The NEET-PG exam, which was scheduled to take place, has been postponed by the government as a precaution.
Currently, NEET has become an issue of debate in the 18th Lok Sabha session due to exam cancellations and alleged foul play by some boards, and political parties have been demanding a discussion on this.
