The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two people on Tuesday who were allegedly responsible for stealing the NEET-UG question papers. One of the arrested had stolen paper from the National Testing Agency (NTA). CBI has registered the FIR and have made over six dozen of arrests in the case so far.
The two arrested have been identified as Rankaj Kumar from Patna and Raju Singh from Hazaribagh. Both accused have been involved in stealing and circulating the question paper. Earlier, CBI arrested the key accused Rakesh Ranjan from Bihar’s Nalanda.
Pankaj Kumar aka Aaditya has done civil engineering from NIT Jamshedpur in 2017. The paper was leaked by Oasis School in Hazari Bagh. The two sets of papers that reached the school had their seal broken and the school preferred to remain tight-lipped instead of flagging the issue to the staff.
For the unversed, the NEET-UG exam was conducted by NTA for admissions to government and private institutions. The examination garnered controvery with allegations of impersonation and cheating. The CBI FIR from Bihar pertains to paper leaks while those registered in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The exam was conducted on May 5 in 4750 centers in 571 cities. More than 23 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of which sixty-seven secured a perfect 720 score.
