New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal announced a major electoral promise on Friday, pledging to provide Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) with funds to hire private security guards if the party is voted back into power. “We will ensure security for RWAs by funding private security guards,” said Kejriwal during a press conference.
The AAP leader also raised concerns about alleged voter irregularities in the New Delhi Assembly constituency. Speaking about his recent meeting with the Election Commission, Kejriwal claimed, “Between December 15 and January 7, 5,500 votes were flagged for deletion in New Delhi, which accounts for 5.5% of the total voter base. Additionally, 13,000 new voter applications have been filed in this period, suggesting potential fraud.”
The issue has sparked controversy, with the BJP accusing Kejriwal of insulting Purvanchalis (people from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar). However, Kejriwal defended his remarks, asserting that the BJP was deleting Purvanchali votes by labeling them as Bangladeshi voters. “Purvanchali voters made me Chief Minister. Why would I insult them?” Kejriwal said.
In a recent video posted by Arvind Kejriwal highlighted how India has slipped from its international economic position in the past decade. The video highlighted the falling Indian rupee, slipping passport ranking, and declining GDP. Despite these problems, the BJP is fighting the upcoming Delhi elections based on Arvind Kejriwal’s toilet. Watch full video on claims made.
