The unanticipated public appearances of two famous German content creators brought them into a brief run-in with the law in Bengaluru because their appearance caused massive crowds of people to gather in the streets of the city.

The first one involved German TikToker Noel Robinson, who was detained by the Bengaluru police after an informal dance performance attracted a big crowd. His dance videos got viral, and his unique sense of style, which involves afro reveals, also registered over 11 million followers on Instagram. His random acts of music have surprised unsuspecting passersby, making him extremely popular on most of his platforms.

On Wednesday, Robinson described his treatment on official Instagram by video, saying that he was detained at the police station and spent approximately 15 minutes there, after which he was fined and released. “This is the first time I was being ferried to the police station!!! I was worried that they would drag me to prison but thank God everything turned out cool!” In the caption, he wrote, “I am safe and I love India.” According to him, the police had to intervene since he was causing too much of a crowd in the street, practicing his acts even without authorization. Before getting away, he had to pay a small fine of two dollars.

Soon after the case of Robinson, another German celebrity, Younes Zarou, fell into the same predicament. Just by announcing a visit to Church Street on Instagram, Zarou (with his fan base of more than 20 million followers and an illusion video maker who often performs public stunts) created much-needed hype. This post became viral within a few hours, and hundreds of fans went to the place. Zarou was escorted by a patrol car, which was packed with police personnel, because they were caught off guard by the unexpected crowd.

Cubbon Park Police Station officials state that any event, which is expected to see a large crowd, has to seek prior permission. The event is reminiscent of a previous instance of a similar nature in British singer Ed Sheeran, whose impromptu street performance in the same location was stopped by the police on grounds of not seeking the authorities’ approval.
