New Delhi: Dwarka district police conducted a special campaign against those involved in the illegal liquor and narcotics trade in the Najafgarh area. The campaign, carried out in Indira Market and Anaj Mandi areas of Najafgarh, resulted in the arrest of six individuals, including three women. The police seized 1528 quarters of illicit liquor and 40 grams of heroin from their possession. Additionally, a suspect was apprehended with a pistol and cartridges.

Charges have been filed against four suspects under the Excise Act, one under the Arms Act, and one under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Acting on the directives of Dwarka district police superintendent M. Harshavardhan, security units in the district initiated the operation on December 2nd to target individuals engaged in the illegal trade of liquor and narcotics in Najafgarh.

Inspector Navin Kumar, along with officers Kamlesh Kumar, Raghuvir, and Vivek Mandola, led the search operation. During the operation, the police arrested six suspects, and among them, three were women. The identified individuals involved in the case are Chandar and Rishipal from Najafgarh, Anita, Geeta, Sumitra, and Anil from Sultanpuri.

The campaign aimed to curb the menace of illicit substances in the region, and the police have successfully taken stringent actions against the alleged offenders. This operation reflects the commitment of law enforcement to maintain public safety and combat the illegal trade of substances that pose a threat to the well-being of the community.

The seized items, including the illicit liquor, heroin, and the weapon, will be crucial evidence in the legal proceedings against the arrested individuals. The police remain vigilant and continue to work towards ensuring a safer environment for the residents of Dwarka district. Police officials also informed the society about this illicit liquor trafficking and said that more investigation will be carried out for it.
