In a village in Eka, two elder brothers allegedly killed their younger sibling over a land dispute, beating him and strangling him with a scarf. The police arrested one brother, while the other and an accomplice are on the run. The deceased’s wife has filed a report against all three.

Ghanashyam, son of Indrapal from Nagla Dayaram, had developed a relationship with his brother Brajesh’s wife two years ago, leading to marital issues. Brajesh expelled his wife from their home, and Ghanashyam started living separately with his sister-in-law. Reportedly, Brajesh was distressed over his wife being kept by his younger brother. Brajesh resided with his brother Bhagwan Singh near Mother Subhadra Devi.

Ghanashyam, who drove a truck and lived away from home, was estranged from his father Indrapal, who had land disputes within the family. Ghanashyam arrived in the village two days ago, sparking a disagreement over the division of land between him and his brothers, Brajesh and Bhagwan. Ghanashyam sought three portions of the land, while Brajesh and Bhagwan intended to split four portions for the maintenance of their mother. The dispute escalated, leading to Brajesh and Bhagwan allegedly strangling Ghanashyam with a scarf and assaulting him with an iron rod, resulting in his death.

The incident underscores the tragic consequences of family disputes and land conflicts in rural areas, leading to fatal confrontations among siblings. The police are actively pursuing the absconding brothers and their accomplice, aiming to bring them to justice for the alleged fratricide. The situation also highlights the significance of conflict resolution and legal intervention in familial disputes to prevent such tragic outcomes.
