Mumbai Police nabbed a man from Raipur, Chhattisgarh state, on Tuesday for threatening to kill Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

The accused, whose name has been given as Faizan Khan and who works as a lawyer in Raipur, was arrested after he was reported to have refused to turn up before the police for questioning in the Shah Rukh Khan case.

Faizan Khan was arrested after the Mumbai Police tracked down the threatening call to a telephone number belonging to Faizan Khan. The police had earlier come to Raipur and had called the lawyer to help them with their investigation. Still, when Khan could not complete the extra steps, the police had to intervene further due to his lack of compliance.

Khan of Pandri police station Raipur had stated that his mobile phone was stolen from him on November 2. He lodged a complaint at the Khamardih police station that the device had been stolen and then reported the incident to the Mumbai police. He claimed that the call that he received on his phone number, having registered it with the agency, was a conspiracy against him.

On a much more personal note, Faizan Khan said in the press release, “My mobile was snatched, and I had informed the police station. Therefore, I also reported the theft to the Mumbai Police. They questioned me for nearly two hours on the threat call instance.”

Nonetheless, the police found enough grounds to arrest him, suspecting that he had lied and providing an exaggerated account of events. Such as the credibility of the stolen phone story and even whether the incident was a part of a conspiracy or rather a rumor.

Mumbai Police are still probing into the case, and the role of such a person named Faizan Khan is in the air. They are investigating whether he had a firsthand involvement in the issuance of the threats or whether he was acting ignorantly of the law.
