A news reported that the CID Special Branch of the Mizoram Police arrested a Myanmar holder for his involvement in 3.4 kilograms of what was believed to be heroin by the authorities. This was followed by an operation based on an informer to Aizawl District on Sunday evening when a piece of the contraband was recovered from a two-wheeler.

The suspect has been named and addressed as CT Liana, 25 years old and from the Myanmar Tahan region. Experts also found out that officials had confiscated some vital papers proving his residency in Myanmar, which raised concerns that the narcotics in question were imported from the neighbouring country.

According to reports, the man was allegedly ferrying the substance in special things hidden in the car. According to the police report, 311 soap cases suspected to hold the prohibited substance were retrieved, and they are being analyzed further.

The top brass of the police force informed that the buying and selling of drugs, including heroin, Yaba tablets and other related substances, had become well entrenched across Mizoram. Law enforcement agencies believe that a large part of the infrastructure is often located overseas, and many pieces are transported using local contacts.

The fight against narcotics continues to gain momentum, and law enforcement officials are increasing the activity of surveillance and proliferation of measures. This apprehension of the Myanmar national is a pointer towards the efforts that will be made by countries in breaking the sales and supply of narcotics across borders.

Mizoram Police reaffirmed its stand as an agency that wishes to end any form of drug menace and the disruption of illicit activities of crime syndicates in the state. While countering the activities of drug dealers, law enforcing agencies must remain vigilant and more collaborative.
