Mumbai: An outrageous murder case has taken its place in Mumbai where it is alleged that a man was caught killing his wife so that he could be able to maintain an extramarital relationship. The accused, who is called Sakaram, is reported to have planned the murder of his wife, Geeta Chaudhary in a calculated way since he had already tried to kill her but failed.

The case happened on October 14, when Geeta, 34, was discovered hanging by a ceiling fan in the kitchen of their house. The case itself was an accidental death, which was registered as an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at the time. Much could not be concluded in the post-mortem examination of her death and the body was subsequently transported to Rajasthan to conduct the last rites. Nonetheless, her family especially her father Bhanaram Chaudhary, had their doubts and demanded that she could not have committed suicide.

Investigations subsequently established that Sakaram had already attempted to kill his wife many times in the past including faking a road accident and physically assaulting her. Upon these failures, he supposedly contracted his friend Shankar Dangi and two accomplices who were named Babu (also referred to as Raghav or Amarchand Gayari) and Dinesh Gayri and paid them 6.7 lakh to execute the murder.

During the incident on that day, the accused is said to have strangled Geeta, and he made the crime scene look like a suicide. In interrogation, Sakaram made an attempt of deceiving the investigators but eventually admitted to committing the crime in which he stated that he wanted to get his wife out of his life to stay with another woman.
