Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a luxury BMW car hit a two-wheeler couple in Mumbai’s Worli area on Sunday. In this hit-and-run case, the woman riding the two-wheeler was dragged for 100 meters to death and the husband was left injured.
According to the Mumbai Police, the couple who hailed from the Koliwada area of Worli were out for fetching fish when the incident happened. At around 5:30 AM near Atria Mall, the speeding car hit the two-wheeler from behind after which the man driving the two-wheeler lost balance and the couple fell onto the bonnet of the luxury car.

Although the husband managed to jump off the moving car, but wife Kaveri Nakawa was unable to do so as she was carrying a heavy load. She was dragged for 100 meters, leading to injuries. When both were rushed to Nair Hospital for treatment, the woman succumbed due to her injuries.
An investigation has been launched in the case. According to the Police, the BMW was driven by the 24-year-old Mihir Shah, the son of Rajesh Shah. Rajesh Shah belongs to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shine’s faction of Shiv Sena. While Mihir is on the run, Rajesh Shah has been detained by the state police.
