Lucknow: A tragic incident took place in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a 22-year-old student lost her life after being shot at a friend’s house in the Chinahat area Thursday morning. Authorities have apprehended the friend in connection with the incident.
The victim was identified as Nishtha Tripathi, a third-year B.Com student enrolled in a college. The alleged perpetrator is Aditya Pathak, who works as a contractor. The shooting occurred at Pathak’s rented residence in Chinahat. Law enforcement officials discovered a pistol believed to have been used in the crime.
Syed Ali Abbas, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, stated, “We have arrested Aditya Pathak and are currently investigating the involvement of individuals.” The police are awaiting the results of the mortem examination.
Tripathi from Hardoi district was living on rent in Lucknow. Preliminary investigations suggest that she visited Pathak’s residence after attending an event at her college. The two individuals were acquainted with each other for months based on information provided by law enforcement authorities.
During the hours of Thursday morning, the police received information from a hospital indicating that they had admitted a girl, with gunshot wounds who unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
A team of police quickly arrived at the scene. Identified the victim as Tripathi. They immediately reached out to her family in Hardoi to deliver the news. The authorities are currently working diligently to investigate and understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.
