Kannauj: In a tragic incident in Kannauj last night, a businessman was fatally shot, and his possessions, including 20 lakh worth of jewelry and cash, were looted. The harrowing event unfolded as jewelers were returning home on their motorcycle, carrying a bag containing precious items and cash. Pursued by two assailants, the jewelers became victims of a gunshot, leaving Ayyaz Khan, a resident of Sarai Mohalla in the Kotwali area, dead on the spot. The incident occurred near Rajkiya Inter College on the Gursahayganj road in Farrukhabad.

As the culprits approached from behind, they first targeted Ayyaz, resulting in the loss of control over the bike, leading to a crash. Ayyaz, along with his father and brother, was returning home when the assailants fired the fatal shot. The assailants, issuing threats of further violence, swiftly looted the bag filled with 7 kilograms of silver, 200 grams of gold, and 2 lakh rupees in cash before making a quick escape. The crime unfolded in proximity to the Rajkiya Inter College on the Gursahayganj road.

Ayyaz Khan was rushed to the local Community Health Center (CHC), where, given the severity of his condition, he was referred to Kanpur. Unfortunately, despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. The doctor at the residence declared him dead.

The loot not only resulted in a substantial financial loss for the jewelers but also left the community shaken by the brazen act of violence. Local authorities are actively investigating the incident, aiming to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of residents. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability faced by individuals, even in familiar surroundings, and highlights the need for enhanced security measures to curb such criminal activities.
