A sensational and tragic murder unfolded in the narrow lanes of Bhagirathi Vihar in northeast Delhi, driven by jealousy and a love triangle, according to the police. The victim, 20-year-old Mahir from Ghaziabad, was employed at a flex printing shop in Paharganj, Delhi. The main accused, 18-year-old Arman Khan, engaged in a deadly rivalry with Mahir over a 21-year-old woman, their common acquaintance, identified through Instagram connections.

The escalating jealousy between Mahir and Arman reached a critical juncture when Arman discovered a video call between Mahir and the woman. Enraged by the perceived interference in their relationship, Arman confronted Mahir and, in an attempt to sever Mahir’s connection with the woman, forcibly took away her phone. In a sinister turn of events, Arman, along with accomplices Faisal (21) and Sameer (19), lured Mahir to Bhagirathi Vihar under the pretext of returning the woman’s phone.

In a brutal and premeditated attack, the three accused in the Instagram story ambushed Mahir, mercilessly stabbing him to death before fleeing the scene, leaving his lifeless body by the roadside. A distress call later that night led the police to discover Mahir’s body, bearing multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, with a blood-stained knife recovered at the crime scene.

The Delhi Police, aided by the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS), successfully tracked down and arrested all three accused in connection with the murder. Arman, identified as the proprietor of a general store, Faisal, an LCD TV repairman, and Sameer, a scrap dealer, all reside in the Bhagirathi Vihar area where the tragic incident occurred.

This disturbing incident underscores the potential consequences of online interactions and the need for vigilance in managing interpersonal relationships. The police investigation will likely delve into the dynamics of the love triangle, shedding light on the motives and circumstances leading to this senseless act of violence in the heart of Delhi.
