New Delhi: In the Welcome area of Northeast Delhi, a businessman involved in making iron almirahs received a call demanding a ransom of ₹50 lakh in the name of gangster Hashim Baba. When the businessman refused, the next day, the goons opened fire at his house. After firing approximately five rounds, the scooter-borne assailants fled the scene. The victim promptly informed the police about the incident. District senior police officers, along with the FSL, were called to the site immediately. Upon investigation, three empty cartridges were recovered from the crime scene, leading the police to register a case of firing.
The victim, Abraar Ahmad, resides in the Welcome area with his family and is involved in the business of manufacturing iron racks and almirahs in the Seelampur locality. On Sunday night, around 10 PM, he received a call from an unknown number, demanding a ransom of ₹50 lakh while threatening him.
