Delhi Police has busted an online casino gambling racket operating from Mumbai. In this action, the police have arrested nine people, including the kingpin of the racket. According to police officials, the accused used to trap people through suspicious links and unauthorized apps. They used to circulate download links hosted outside the official app store through an online app. People were then asked to install the unauthorized app by scanning a QR code and then enter the OTP to access the online gambling platform.

Users were then encouraged to buy points with real money and play casino-style games. Investigation has revealed that the accused used to keep the app active for 2-3 months and then suddenly shut it down and issue a new link, so that new victims could be continuously targeted.
According to the police, the kingpin of this racket is Bhuvendra alias Bhupendra (48 years), a resident of Sultanpuri, Delhi. The other arrested accused have been identified as Suraj (26), Mayank (20), Rahul (26), Rohan (23), Rajendra Gupta (40), Dharamveer (33), Dilshad Ahmed (33) and Rajesh Gupta (32). The police have also recovered Rs 85,320 in cash, six computer setups (monitor, CPU, keyboard and mouse) and other gambling-related items from the spot. In this regard, an FIR has been registered at Sultanpuri police station under sections 3 and 4 of the Delhi Public Gambling Act. Police said that all the accused have been arrested and further investigation is being done.
