Delhi Police has busted a gang involved in smuggling liquor through camels, which was smuggling liquor in Delhi in a very new way. The smugglers of this group used camels to bring liquor to South Delhi through the forest route. The police have busted the gang and arrested five people. Officials said on Friday that 42 cans of liquor and three camels have been seized from the accused.
An officer said, “The smugglers had adopted a unique method to avoid checkpoints and patrol parties. They would load the liquor boxes on camels and take them through forest areas and dirt roads, making them difficult to trace.”
Police has arrested 5 smugglers of this gang. Police says that this gang was smuggling liquor made in Haryana to Delhi through camels. 42 boxes of liquor have been seized from them. These smugglers used to enter Delhi through the forest from Faridabad and smuggle liquor. Police officer said that camels were mostly used at night so that the consignment of liquor could be transported from one place to another silently.
Along with taking action against liquor smugglers, Delhi Police has also taken action against Bangladeshi citizens involved in illegal activities. The Operation Cell team of Delhi’s South West district has taken a major action and arrested four illegal Bangladeshi citizens. These include one man and three women, who were living illegally in India since 2017. Police have also recovered Bangladeshi identity cards from them.
