Ghaziabad: Near Mangal Chowk in Indirapuram, on Tuesday afternoon around 12:15 PM, two armed assailants on a motorcycle targeted the State Bank of India (SBI) branch. They forcibly took away a bag containing INR 9.56 lakhs from the petrol pump’s cashier, Ajab Singh. The culprits, dressed in black and blue T-shirts, fled towards NH-9 while their actions were captured on CCTV cameras.

Ajab Singh, the cashier of the Bharat Petrol Pump situated in the Vaibhav Khand area, narrated the incident. He mentioned that he usually accompanied his Sales Assistant, Deepak Kumar, to the bank branch on a daily basis. As Deepak parked the motorcycle outside the bank branch near the Shukra and Mangal Chowk intersection, Singh was seated on the pillion.

At this point, the two assailants approached them and snatched the bag. Both Singh and Deepak pursued the thieves for approximately 200 meters. However, taking advantage of the crowd, the culprits managed to escape. Ajab Singh, who had a clear view of the robbers, described their attire. One was wearing a black T-shirt, and the other wore a blue one.

The owner of the petrol pump, Vinit Yadav, and his wife, Saroj Yadav, reported the incident to the police. The police are currently investigating the case and examining the CCTV footage to identify the culprits.

Incidents like this highlight the importance of maintaining security at businesses, especially when dealing with large sums of money. It’s crucial for both establishments and individuals to take precautions to minimize the risk of such thefts and to cooperate with law enforcement to bring the culprits to justice. The police are making efforts to track down the suspects and recover the stolen funds, but such cases serve as a reminder of the need for vigilance and security measures.
