Samsung maintained its position in the smartphone market during the third quarter of this year (Q3), holding a significant market share of 18 percent. The released report reveals that they shipped 7.9 million units.
Xiaomi closely followed Samsung securing the spot by shipping a total of 7.6 million units thanks to their release of 5G models. Vivo slipped to the position. Still managed to ship 7.2 million units demonstrating their substantial presence in the market.
Realme and OPPO (excluding OnePlus) completed the five in this competitive landscape. Realme delivered 5.8 million units while OPPO closely followed with 4.4 million units, according to a market research firm.
In terms of the market landscape, India witnessed a total of 43 million smartphone shipments during Q3 of 2023. Although there was a decline of 3 percent year on year in shipments, this quarter showcased a favourable consumer environment that allowed manufacturers to capitalise on introducing new and innovative devices.
A noteworthy development is HONOR’s re-entry into the smartphone market through a joint venture with HTech.
They have effectively released their HONOR 90 model, which brings an aspect to the market dynamics and provides consumers with a wider range of choices.
