MUMBAI: The Indian Rupee on Wednesday, plunged slightly against the Dollar. The drop came a day after the BOJ revised its policy in a surprise move.
At the interbank forex market, the local unit opened weak at 82.76 against the greenback and witnessed an intra-day high of 82.66 and a low of 82.83. As opposed to its previous close of 82.7550, the BOJ-induced volatility helped the rupee gain grounds somewhat by the relative calm across Asia.
Meanwhile, the dollar fell against a basket of other currencies, pushing gold prices to six-month highs and crude prices to rise.
