MUMBAI: The Indian Rupee at the opening day of the market for the week qappreciated by 9 paise to close at 82.73 (provisional) against US Dollar.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit opened at 82.69 against the greenback currency and finally settled at 82.72 (provisional) against the American unit, registering a gain of 10 paise over its previous close of 82.82.
The dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, rose 0.04% to 103.90. Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures advanced 1.05% to $83.87 per barrel.
Gold and silver Silver prices also increased by Rs 50 to Rs 56,307 per 10 grams and Rs 140 to Rs 65,770 per kg respectively.
