MUMBAI: The Indian currency on Friday recorded sharp gains as Dollar demand from domestic importers surged.

As per reports, the Rupee was last changing hands at 82.47 per dollar after opening at 82.38, compared to 82.5025 it closed on Thursday.

While the domestic unit strengthened in early trade, rising to nearly 82.29 against the greenback on Friday, importers once again bought dollars and drove the currency to 82.50.

Meanwhile, the Gold price in the national capital fell by Rs 105 to Rs 50,889 per 10 grams on Friday. On the contrary, Silver gained Rs 21 to Rs 58,336 per kg from Rs 58,315 per kg.
