Mumbai : The domestic currency, Rupee on Friday depreciated by 4 paise against the US Dollar which is tracking a strong resurgence in the overseas market and rising crude oil prices.

The Indian currency at the interbank foreign exchange market opened at 79.67 and recorded an intra-day hike of 79.63 and a low of 79.22 against the greenback currency.

On Thursday, the Indian rupee depreciated by 37 paise to close at 79.62 against US Dollar.

Meanwhile, the Dollar index which measures the strength of the American currency rose 0.26 per cent to 105.36. The Brent crude oil advanced 0.55 per cent to USD 100.15 per barrel.
