Mumbai: The Indian currency on Wednesday declined by 30 paise registering a rise of almost the same units a day before.

Opening at 79.58 per dollar, the rupee hovered between 79.38 to 79.60 during the session. The domestic unit finally settled at 79.47.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading 0.35 per cent lower at 109.43.

Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, advanced by 0.62 per cent to USD 93.75 per barrel.

Meanwhile gold prices in India on September 14 recorded a steady decline for 24 and 22 carat. As on Wednesday, gold price in India for 24 carat gold (10 grams) is Rs 50,680 while 22 carat gold (10 grams) cost Rs 46,420.Fluctuation in gold prices was observed in different metro cities of India in last 24 hours.
