New Delhi: Indian International airlines Jet Airways was granted to fly after a hiatus of three years on Friday. The DGCA granted Air Operator Permit(AOP) to the airlines that was grounded due to financial woes.
The airline did five landings to complete its proving flights between May15-17 with DGCA officials on board.
The airline in its old avatar was owned by Naresh Goyal and had operated its last flight on April 17, 2019. The Jalan-Kalrock Consortium is currently the promoter of Jet Airways.
On May 8, the ministry of civil aviation granted security clearance to the grounded carrier.The approval was given basis a nod from the ministry of home affairs.
The airline plans to begin their commercial services in the third quarter this year.
