MUMBAI: The Indian Rupee on Monday opened strong on the heels of a two session loosing streak as the Dollar slipped at the interbank forex exchange. An appreciation by 22 paise was reported taking the Rupee to 82.65 per Dollar.
In the previous session on Friday, the rupee settled almost flat at 82.75 against the US dollar.
Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, fell 0.15 per cent to 104.54.
The BSE Sensex index rose 468.38 points to close at 61,806.19, and the broader NSE Nifty index climbed 151.45 points, or 0.83 per cent to end at 18,420.45.
