Bitcoin scam: The CBI has taken major action in the Bitcoin scam case. The Central Bureau of Investigation has raided more than 60 places across the country, including Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Pune, and Kolhapur. CBI has also conducted raids in more than 10 places in seven states, including Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan. The purpose of this action is to catch those who are cheating people in the name of Bitcoin.
This is not the first time the CBI has taken action on cryptocurrency-related scams. Last month too, the CBI had conducted searches in seven states in a crypto Ponzi scam worth Rs 350 crore. During this, hundreds of investors were robbed of their hard-earned money. This action of the CBI is an important step towards stopping the fraud happening in the name of cryptocurrency and punishing the culprits.
The CBI has earlier conducted raids at more than 10 locations in seven states including Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. During this, Rs 34.2 lakh in cash, cryptocurrency worth US $ 38,414, seven mobile phones, a laptop, three hard disks, 10 pen drives and other digital evidence were recovered.

The CBI found that some people were luring people by promising high returns on investments in bitcoin. They were promoting their schemes through social media groups. In these schemes, money was taken from investors and converted into cryptocurrency, so that the source of money could be hidden. Investigation revealed that transactions worth more than Rs 350 crore have taken place through these schemes.
