The De De Pyaar De 2 film of Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh is recording great momentum in the box office, and the film is performing well throughout the weekend. The romantic comedy began with a good 8.75 crore on Friday and recorded a tremendous 40% collection on Saturday at 12.25 crore. Following this surge, the movie has consumed a total of 21 crore within a period of only two days showing a positive reception by the audience.
The film has witnessed an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 20.53 per cent on Saturday as per trade trackers. Occupancy was slowly rising throughout the day, morning shows recorded 7.60% which went on to record 16.28% in the afternoon. Showing the most interest and word of mouth, evening shows was at 21.72 years, followed by a night show at 36.50 which was impressive.
Directed by Anshul Sharma and a script by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, De De Pyaar De 2 is an adaptation that recreates the beauty and the humour of the 2019 blockbuster. Ajay Devgn re-statements his role of Ashish Mehra, a 52-year-old London-based investor, who has to deal with intergenerational love and relationships. Rakul Preet Singh revises his role as Ayesha Khurana, the younger girlfriend of Ashish, whose relationship with him once again takes center stage of the story.
R. Madhavan also introduces a new touch to the story as he takes the role of the father of Ayesha, Rajji, a frequent opponent of Ashish and the cause of funny situations and dramatic elements. Supporting are Jaaved Jaaferi, Meezaan Jafri, Gautami Kapoor and Ishita Dutta who also play their roles in making the movie humorous and full of emotions.
Having powerful collections and the growing interest of the audience, De De Pyaar De 2 looks promising in the first weekend and can extend its stable course in case the positive tendency is maintained in the next few days.
