Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, on Wednesday evening, just after returning to the country following a visit to Bhutan, visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital to meet the injured people in the red fort car blast that had taken place near the Lal Quila Metro Station on Monday. The Prime Minister engaged the victims and asked them how they were treated medically and hoped they recover soon. The physicians and top officials were reported to him about the situation of the injured in the fatal explosion.

Ten people have died already as a result of the blast that occurred in a white Hyundai i20. The government has promised to ensure those who committed the acts are criminals are brought to justice. Primary post-mortem analysis showed that the victim had terrible injuries to the upper body in form of fractures and head injuries as well as ruptured internal organs, which showed evidence of a high-intensity explosion. No splinter marks have been discovered by forensic experts and samples have been forwarded to Rohini Forensic science laboratory to establish the true composition of explosive material.

DNA samples of the mother of the alleged driver Dr. Umar Un Nabi of the car carrying explosives have also been taken by the investigators to verify at AIIMS forensic laboratory. CCTV shots depict the vehicle in which Nabi was riding, passing by and entering Mumbai Expressway, KMP Expressway and finally Delhi, which brings up the question of accomplices.

The investigation is now under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is collaborating with the Delhi Police. The police are also being reported to be monitoring two other terror modules which are suspected to be related to the terror group that carried out the attack. It is believed that the suspects went underground after being arrested in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as, Haryana where almost 3,000 kilograms of explosive material was found. The authorities believe that the group was about to embark on a set of synchronized explosions nationwide, which led to increased security in the country.
