Mumbai: Veteran film actor Dharmendra has passed away at the age of 89. Dharmendra breathed his last at Breach Candy Hospital. The senior actor was admitted to the hospital due to breathing problems. Dharmendra’s death has sent a wave of mourning across the country. Everyone is praying for the peace of the actor’s soul. Dharmendra was born on December 8, 1935, in Nasrali. Fondly known as the He-Man of Bollywood, Dharmendra would have turned 90 on December 8.

Before November 10, Dharmendra was also hospitalized on October 31. Reporter Vicky Lalwani posted that Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to breathing problems. He was placed in the ICU.

According to a source close to the Deol family, Dharmendra’s daughters have already been called to Mumbai from abroad. Sunny Deol was seen very emotional outside the hospital last night, while Bobby Deol also returned to Mumbai after leaving the shooting of Alpha and visited his father. Several Bollywood celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, arrived at Breach Candy Hospital late Monday night.

Dharmendra underwent cornea transplant surgery earlier this year. The transparent layer of his left eye, the cornea, was damaged, leading to a cornea transplant (keratoplasty). Between 2015 and 2020, Dharmendra had repeatedly complained of back pain, muscle strain, and weakness. He was hospitalized for back pain and fatigue.

Dharmendra will be seen in the film “Ekkis.” The film tells the story of young soldier Arun Khetarpal during the Indo-Pakistani War. Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Agastya Nanda, plays the role of Arun Khetarpal, while Dharmendra plays his father, M.L. Khetarpal.
