New Delhi: The weather in Delhi-NCR is quite pleasant these days. Mornings and evenings are feeling cool, while the daytime sunshine brings a slight warmth. However, with the increasing coolness, air quality is also deteriorating significantly. Air pollution remains a concern in various parts of the capital. From Anand Vihar to Akshardham and other areas, air quality has reached extremely poor levels.
According to CPCB data, Delhi’s AQI was 284 on Friday at approximately 4 p.m. The CPCB reports that at 8 am, the AQI was 367. Anand Vihar had the highest AQI (370), followed by Wazirpur (328) and Jahangirpuri (324). Meanwhile, several areas in Delhi recorded an AQI above 200, which means the air quality in these localities has turned ‘Poor’.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Delhi is expected to remain dry on October 18th. The capital is experiencing a mix of heat and cold these days. While the sunshine during the day is making it feel warm, many people are still using air conditioners in their homes. However, as evening approaches, a slight chill is felt.
The festive season has brought huge crowds of people to markets and streets. As a result, journeys that used to take minutes have turned into hours. People are leaving their homes in droves to shop, visit relatives, and exchange gifts. This is having a direct impact on Delhi’s major roads and border areas, whether in Gurugram, Noida, or Ghaziabad, with traffic jams stretching for kilometers.
